GeoGarage

GeoGarage is the web and mobile nautical charting platform of Magic Instinct Software (MIS). It streams the official nautical charts of several hydrographic offices, viewable in a web browser and in mobile apps.

Milestones

  • 2007: MIS launches GeoGarage, a web hosting and viewing service for spatial imagery and maps, compatible with Google Maps and Google Earth.
  • 2010: launch of Marine GeoGarage, the first web portal for nautical charts from several hydrographic offices (NOAA in the United States, LINZ in New Zealand, DHN in Brazil, UKHO in the United Kingdom, SHN in Argentina), updated regularly. The same year saw the first iPhone and iPad apps, Marine NZ followed by Marine US.
  • 2014: partnership with Weather 4D, giving access to GeoGarage platform charts in its Android app.
  • 2015: GeoGarage is one of the four finalists of the Eniro Tech Challenge in Stockholm, selected from 154 European startups, for its work on vector nautical charting for web and mobile.
  • 2016: opening of a subscription website for annual GeoGarage chart subscriptions.
  • 2021: MIS becomes an official Primar distributor of S-63 ENC charts, for its Olex customers and for the professional web mapping applications of the GeoGarage platform.
